Projects Page


When you click the "Projects" link in the left-side navigation column a list of your projects and a "New Project" button will appear.

Project Summary


When you click on a project the details for that project are displayed along with a row of sub-tabs with additional options and information.

Project Summary Box

  1. Project Summary list the following
    1. "Owner" this is the project owner
    2. "Client" this is the name of the client
    3. "Due Date" this is the date of the project that it is due
    4. "Status" tells you whether the project is active or not
    5. "Progress" tells you how complete the project is

Adding a document

  1. From the "Projects" page, select the project you wish to add a document to
  2. Click the "Add Documents" button
  3. Document Settings pick the "Save TM to" and "Phase Template" you wish to apply to this document.
  4. Documents > Click on the "Choose File" > Browse for the file(s) that you want to add, put in "Document Name", "Original File Format", and "Priority"
  5. The "Document Name" field will be automatically populated with the filename of the document that you selected. If you would like to give the file a new name, you can edit this field.
  6. In the Language Settings set the "Source" and the "Targets" languages you wish to be in.
  7. Click "Save"

Documents Tab

Documents

  1. The Document lists show the following
    1. "Document" this is the document name
    2. "Priority" this is the priority of the document
    3. "Source" this is the source language
    4. "Target" this is the target language
    5. "Due Date" this is the date the document is due
    6. "Words" in the document
    7. "Progress" this is the progress of the document

Actions: 

Select document(s) and click on the actions drop down.  You will get the following options.  Please a select document(s) for each action.

  1. Add
    1. Assignment
      1. Add Assignment pick the target, phase and the translator you click on "Add Assignment"
    2. Phase
      1. Add Phase put in the name, description and phase type and click "Add Phase"
    3. Tag
      1. Add tag let's you select a pre defined tag and then you click on "Add Tag"
    4. Target
      1. Add a target language select the phase template and the languages you would like to add, click "Add Target"
  2. Remove:
    1. Assignment
      1. To remove an assignment select the Language and translator and click on "Remove Assignment"
    2. Phase
      1. To remove phase select which phase(s) you would like to remove and click on "Remove Phase"
    3. Tag
      1. To remove a tag select the tag(s) you want to remove and click on "Remove Tag"
    4. Target
      1. To remove a target language select the language(s) you wish to remove and click on "Remove Target"
  3. Other
    1. Set Priority
      1. To set priority select the priority you would like to set and click on "Set Priority"
    2. Change Due Date
      1. To change the due date of the documents clink on the "Change Due Date"
    3. Change Project
      1. To change the project the document is related to you can select the project you want to move it into and click on "Change Project"
    4. Apply Segment Chooser Template
      1. To apply the segment chooser click on the segment you would like and click on "Apply"
    5. Paste MT: Google
      1. To apply Google machine translation to all docs click on the "Paste MT: Google"
    6. Delete
      1. If you would like to delete the document select delete and confirm by clicking on the "Delete" button

Download

Downloading a Document

  1. This allows you to download the documents
  2. Select the documents you would like to download
  3. Pop up will appear you can do pick Format (Original, XLIFF, TMX, CSV) and which docs you wish to download.
  4. Click on "Download"
  5. Documents will be downloaded to your desktop in a .zip file

TM Statistics Tab

The TM Statistics tab gives you all statistical data on the current documents you have loaded in the project. You will get words, segments and percentages of exact matches, repetitions. You will also paste all of you exact TM matches to your document.

Click on the "Analyze Project" to get results

This process can take several minutes if you have a lot of documents and targets that you are analyzing. Once you start this process you can not navigate to another page until done. Please be aware that it is working.

Reports tab

Language Report

Select the languages and click on "Generate Graph"

  1. Percentage Complete over Time by Language
  2. Percent Currently Complete by Language

Phase Report

  1. Percentage Complete over Time by Phase
  2. Percent Currently Complete by Phase

Translator Report

  1. List of translators and there points and percentages.

Settings Tab

This allows you to changes any of the settings that are current set on this project

Projects - Documents - Settings

 

Project Settings

  1. Click on "Edit" to change the following
    1. "Project Name" you can rename the project name
    2. "Client" change the client from the drop down list
    3. "Due Date" allows you to change the due date for the project
    4. "Allows Community Project Management" Allows you to turn on the project to be available for other community project managers to help with management project. You can also add a project manager by hand in the below instructions.
    5. "Status" allows you to set as active or complete.
    6. "Owner" allows you to set the owner of the project

Document Settings

  1. Click on "Edit" to change the following
    1. "Allow Download" this allows your translators the ability to download a document.
    2. "Allow PDF View" this allows your translators the ability to view document as a .pdf
    3. "Accept Segment Threshold" for a community translation this is the number of votes for a segment needed for that segment to be accepted as a final translation
    4. "Threshold to begin review phase" this is the percentage set for a translation phase to be complete before the community review phase is available to the community.

Project Managers

  1. This allows you to add other project managers to help you manage this product
    1. Click on add
      1. If no project manager are available you will need to add a project manager to your Contacts under Project Resources.  You can also contact your community manager and have them add the user and assign them as a project manager.
        1. Regular - they can see the projects but can not see the translators. (This is used for clients to view the projects without seeing the translators.) 
        2. Full Translator Sharing - they can see the projects and also see the translators. (This is so the project manager can see the translators.)

TM Vaults

  1. Click on "Add" to add a TM Vault to your project
    1. Select the TM Vaults you would like to add to your project and click "Add"
    2. If no TM Vaults are available to add you can go to Project Resources to TM Vaults and click on "Import"
       

Glossaries

  1. Click on "Add" to add a Glossary to your project
    1. Select the Glossary you would like to add to your project and click "Add"
    2. If no Glossaries are available to add you can go to Project Resources to Glossaries and click on "Import Glossary"

MT Engines

  1. Click on "Add" to add MT Engines to your project
    1. Select the MT Engines you would like to have in your workbench as a resource and click "Add"

When you click on a document name in the project summary "Documents" tab, a screen showing document detail with a row of sub tabs containing additional options and information will appear.

Projects - Targets

Document Summary Box

  1. "TM Vault" tells you the TM Vault you have assigned to you document
  2. "Priority" this is the priority of the document
  3. "Words" tells you have many words are in the document
  4. "Progress" tells you the progress of all the language pairs that your translating

Actions

  1. Analyzing Your Documents
    1. You can Analyze your current documents stats will appear in the workbench stats as will as your TM Statics Tab
    2. Select the project that the document is in
    3. Select the documents you would like to analyze
    4. Select Document Summary > Document Actions select "Analyze"
    5. Your current document will be analyzed and you will have stats available to you and your translator
  2. Paste Google MT
    1. This allows you to pre-populate your translators target window with Machine Translation
    2. Select the project that the document is in
    3. Select the documents you would like to Paste Google MT
    4. Select Document Summary > Document Actions select "Paste Google MT"
    5. This action will paste machine translation results into all of the targets of your document for which MT is available. You cannot reverse this decision. Are you sure you want to do this?
    6. All targets selected for this document will be pre populated with this Google MT
  3. Downloading a Document
    1. This allows you to download the documents
    2. Select the project that the document is in
    3. Select the documents you would like to download
    4. Select Document Summary > Document Actions select "Download"
    5. Pop up will appear you can do pick Format (Original, XLIFF, TMX, CSV) and which docs you wish to download.
    6. Click on "Download"
    7. Documents will be downloaded to your desktop in a .zip file
  4. Updating a Document
    1. Newer versions of a document can be uploaded to replace the current version. To upload a new version:
    2. Select the project that the document is in
    3. Select the document that you want to replace
    4. In the Document Summary > Document Actions select "Update"
    5. Browse to the new version of the document on your computer
    6. Click "Update"
      1. Portions of the document that haven't changed will be imported into the new document, including all translations and segment notes. Portions that have changed will need to be retranslated. Portions that were in the original document which are not in the updated document will be removed.
  5. Deleting a document
    1. From the Projects page, select the project you wish to delete a document from
    2. Check the box directly to the left of the document name you wish to delete
    3. From the "Document Actions" drop down menu, select "Delete"
    4. Click "Delete"

Targets Tab

The targets tab is where you can see and edit all the individual information about the document and its language pair.

  1. "Target" is the language target
  2. "Due Date" this is the date due for this phase
  3. "Progress" is the percentage that is done for each document

Actions

  1. Add Phase
    1. Select the target(s)
    2. Click on Actions > Add Phase
    3. Add "Name"
    4. Add "Description"
    5. Add "Phase Type" Click on "Add"
  2. Remove Phase
    1. Select the target(s)
    2. Click on Actions > Remove Phase
    3. Select the phase you want to remove
    4. Click on "Remove"
  3. Add Targets
    1. Click on Actions > Add Targets to add other language pairs
    2. Select the Phase Template
    3. Select the languages and click on the right arrow
    4. Click on "Add"
  4. Remove Targets
    1. Select the Target(s)
    2. Click on Actions > Remove Target(s)
    3. Select the target you want to remove
    4. Click on "Remove"
  5. Import to Glossary
    1. Click on Actions > Import to Glossary
    2. Select Glossary
    3. Click on "Import"

Save as Phase Template

  1. You can save the current template as a phase template by clicking on the "Save as Phase Template" this will allow you to apply this template to future projects.
    1. Click on "Save as Phase Template"
    2. Type in the name
    3. Click on "Save"

Language Pair Section

  1. "Phase" this is the name of the phase
    1. Click on the "Phase" name and it will launch the workbench to see what the translator will see.
  2. "Type" this is the type of the phase, assigned, self-assigned, community
  3. "Description" this is a free form text field you can add in a description of the document
  4. "Assignment" this is where you assign a translator to the phase of document
    1. Click on "Make Assignments" and get a pop up that lets you assign the translator to this phase
  5. "Progress" this is the percentage of progress this phase has

 

  1. Pause will pause the phase
  2. Edit will allow you to edit the Phase, Type, Description
  3. Save will save new settings
  4. Cancel will cancel any changes
  5. Date field can be clicked on to change due date.

 

Segments Tab

The Segments tab allows you to see all the segments in the document.  You can ignore certain segments and load previous saved templates to apply to your documents

TM Statistics Tab

  1. Click on the Actions > Analyze and you will get the TM Stats for this document
  2. Then re click on the TM Statistics tab
    1. The TM Statistics tab gives you all statistical data on the current documents you have loaded. You will get words, segments and percentages of exact matches, repetitions.

Tags Tab

This allows you to edit any "Tags" in your document

Notes Tab

The notes tab brings up all the notes in the different document pairs.  You can navigate to previous and next notes.

Settings Tab

Settings tab allows you to change settings on this document

  1. "Document Name" you can change the document name 
  2. "Priority" you can change the priority of the document
  3. "Project" you can change which project this document belongs in.
  4. "Notes" you can add any notes that are related to this document
